Think for a minute. No think more, deeper.....do you find you inherently trust a certain sex faster or more than another sex? Do you trust one sex over the other depending on the type of trust or what the trust is for?

I find that I am REALLY biased towards males. I won't see a female shrink. I don't trust them. I don't know why but I have only ever felt comfortable with one before.

I wont see a female GP.....unless it's something that requires me to be partially uncovered, then I do because I feel only my husband should see my body.

I feel more comfortable with males as friends than I do women, I don't know why but I just open up easier to them....and I think that's why I trust them more readily.

Despite all this I don't feel that either sex is inferior OR superior...I just find that I have differing levels of trust for each sex in SOME areas. Not sure why! Does anyone else notice this?

I'm the same, Bunny. One thing that annoys me about other women is their love of gossip, whereas men - or at least the men I know - don't gossip at all. I have only 2 female friends that I could trust with anything and know they wouldn't pass it on, yet each of my male friends can be trusted not to gossip.

I prefer male doctors as well - they're usually more patient with their patients!

Hmm.

I don't think mine is a trust issue usually.

I do definitely lean toward one gender over another for certain things, though. I have mostly male friends, for example, because I dislike a lot of stereotypical female traits. That doesn't mean I never have female friends, but I don't tend to hit it off as well with women or they don't keep my interest as long usually.

As for doctors, I actually prefer a male doctor because I have had issues with women in the past. I don't think one is inherently better than another, but my own experience has lead me down a path where female doctors have hurt me and men have been way more understanding.

Yeah I just feel that males will be more sympathetic if I have womens problems, and women will just brush it off. Hell I do it to my friends ha ha.

Also as Jessi said, I have had a female doctor hurt me and think nothing of it :/.

I being male had thought that the females would tend to go the other way, trusting in 'the sisterhood' sort of thing (I am not speaking in a smart assed manner with this btw). I really did think it would have been more of an "us (women) and them" (men) sort of situation.
Or, the old thing about men are rough and exploitive and evil. While in contrast women are kind and gentle and supportive.
Actually I know I am using stereotypes here but I do find the answers interesting. I am surprised.
I have only had one woman doctor (briefly my g.p,) btw and I have to say, she was very nice with me.
I have found good and bad treatment with male doctors, one specialist in particular may have been very competent but he had the bedside manner of a troll.
But that was certainly not the case re all male physicians I have seen.
Generally I guess I would say my trusts are allocated on an individual and possibly first impression basis. And I have to say there have been occasions when I have been so so wrong.

I'm more inclined to believe women are more manipulative and destructive, versus nurturing....unless they have kids....but even then. Women are ruthless!

I'm not sure which I trust more, but I find I have a lot more male friends than female. I don't think that means I trust them more though!

And another of my dreams has been shattered. (LOL) But really wow you are hard on the "sisterhood" Bunny. It just seems to go so against my expectations.
I am also surprised re the number of females on this topic who say more male than female friends.
More manipulative and destructive, not nurturing, oh my.

Definitely more manipulative and destructive. *nods*

Yes, there are circles of friends and women who are truly nurturing. No doubt about it.

At the same time, you have the same kinds of groups where much of it is fake....or it'll end up being used against each other at the first sign of gain, etc.

Let me guess....you think all sleepovers have pillow fights, too, eh? ;)

O.o

Well now that's interesting.

I think it would also make a lot of news articles sound even more messed up than they already are. :P

I highly recommend Chrome. It's super fast, light, and it's just very very good for me. Opening Firefox takes up to a minute, and IE takes 2 or 3....and let's not even get into how long IE takes to load pages.

Chrome just works faster.

Anyways, it's your browser! I'm sure there are plenty of screenshots around of the best parts online! :D

Chrome will not work for me. It has to do with my Mac being a bit older and the Operating system I think.
I am running google but not g. Chrome. I tried to load and it would not take.
Glad it works for you . I heard some users are not in love with the new one.

I, like Ryder, am male and found the answers slightly surprising, though they do echo some of my close female friends' observations.

On the trust issue, I tend to side with trusting close female friends (note the *close* bit) with any emotional issues that I have - and suffering from chronic depression means I have my fair share. It's probably stupid, but I feel my female friends are far more supportive of me than my male friends, perhaps because I find talking to be a therapy in and of itself (males, by contrast, don't do this very well amongst themselves, or at least in my experience).

In all other arenas, I do tend to trust equally.

Well guys tend to not like to be "burdened" with emotion so girls will listen more I guess...and we invest in you...where as guys usually like to keep a distance. Maybe that's why I like talking to them more, there's less risk lol.

I don't really trust anyone, but I will trust females more. I don't trust men at all. I feel they can do worse things to you if they wanted to than women can. They overpower you easier.

I've worked in several places as a bouncer at strip clubs.

Women are evil. Men are stupid. Neither engenders my trust.

I've been abused by both...and they do the same amount of damage, in fact I'd say the woman hurt me more.

Okay good to see all these positive affirming comments regarding both sexes.  Geez you guys.
Anyway, to Sifu, you and Hunter S. both did stints in strip bars. Hunter to my knowledge never came out with that book he was going to do about working in a strip club. (Might have been Mitchell Brothers off the top of my head
but I am not certain on that. ) So sifu are you doing a book on it?

I tend to mistrust women with "secrets" as I just have this stereotypical view of women loving to share and divulge secrets.

On the opposite side, I feel that men at large are too concerned with trying to be tough and macho so I tend to only trust showing my sensitive side to women for fear of ridicule.

It's definitely not a clear black-and-white answer for me. It varies depending on the type of "trust".

About Bunny
Jade Elizabeth is an eccentric young woman who enjoys writing stories and poems with hidden deeper meanings. She is quoted saying “Writing to me is not a hobby. It's a passion. It's something that lets my thoughts expose themselves, and my heart shine through where other art could not.

Commonly her poems are inspired by love or depression, and are dedicated to the people who encouraged the emotion. Given the chance she will readily pull her poems apart, exposing the deeper and hidden meanings behind her words.

Her stories are usually unspoken messages to those close to her – giving every story a hidden meaning. Some things are better left unsaid, or in her case, expressed indirectly through stories.

Jade used to write Documentation for Simple Machines in her free time, but has since begun studying and working, which takes up most of her free time now.
