Has anyone here got any experience with face painting? I am considering getting into it and seeing where it leads me :D.

It's easier than you might think at the basic level but I imagine it would take a bit of practice to do it really well. I don't do it in a major way but got called on at a kids' party where the parents had practice a few but someone requested something a bit off-beat - since I've done a bit of drawing and stuff I volunteered.

Google image search is really handy, they've usually got a few different options for whatever you might think of to start out by copying. If you were thinking of doing it at fetes or similar I would suggest having a photo album of things that kids can choose from (i.e. the ones you've practiced!) to head off the really random requests; I've been to a few that have done it that way and it seems to work quite well. The best one was where she had a couple of duplicate albums; one that she could work from and another that the next couple of people in the queue could be looking through while they waited.

I think that's the most scary part, the requests. If I don't know how to do spiderman or what ever I might be in trouble ha ha.

I think that if you like doing that kind of thing, that you should go ahead and learn. What I would do, is try to find someone that is experienced at it, and try to work out a deal where they would instruct you how to do the different faces, and you would then help them. That way, you could start out with doing the most basic ones; and as you got more experience, you could do the harder ones. You would still have someone there to help out if you got a request that you didn't know how to do.
Once you have done that for a while; you should know whether this is something you want to do, and enjoy doing. You will also know how to make most of the face-painting looks. You can always specify choices that people can pick from, at least initially; and that way you won't get surprised unexpectedly by someone asking for a face that you have no idea how to do.

I have not done it myself but I have seen others do it and it looks like a lot of fun. I would love to give it a try if the opportunity comes up.  Kids love to have flowers and butterflies painted on their faces.

About Bunny
Jade Elizabeth is an eccentric young woman who enjoys writing stories and poems with hidden deeper meanings. She is quoted saying “Writing to me is not a hobby. It's a passion. It's something that lets my thoughts expose themselves, and my heart shine through where other art could not.

Commonly her poems are inspired by love or depression, and are dedicated to the people who encouraged the emotion. Given the chance she will readily pull her poems apart, exposing the deeper and hidden meanings behind her words.

Her stories are usually unspoken messages to those close to her – giving every story a hidden meaning. Some things are better left unsaid, or in her case, expressed indirectly through stories.

Jade used to write Documentation for Simple Machines in her free time, but has since begun studying and working, which takes up most of her free time now.
